Travel. Shoot. Share.
Travel is the one habit I never want to quit. It’s what gets me out of bed at ridiculous hours, onto planes, trains, and buses, just to stand in front of a view and think, “I need to remember this.” As Saint Augustine wrote, “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page”—and I’ve always wanted to keep turning pages.
I’m Charles Carlini—a concert promoter whose nonprofit, Decibel, produces live music experiences, and the founder of the publishing house, Casa Carlini. My work has always been about creating and sharing meaningful moments, whether through music, books, or now, photography.
Welcome to Shot by Carlini, my corner of the internet where I capture the moments that make travel feel magical. I shoot mostly with my iPhone (and sometimes a Nikon when I’m feeling fancy). I’m not a professional photographer—just someone who loves wandering, noticing, and clicking.
Travel is a huge part of my life. I love arriving somewhere new, meeting people, trying unfamiliar foods, and getting lost on purpose with a camera in hand. It makes me feel happier, calmer, and more alive—and I believe it can do the same for you. If you’ve been waiting for a sign to take that trip, this is it: grab your passport and go.
I truly believe we’re meant to explore. There’s something in us that pulls us toward what’s around the next corner, in the next city, or across the ocean. My photos are my way of sharing that feeling—from busy streets to quiet landscapes, from ancient ruins to modern skylines.
This site isn’t just about me; it’s for you, too. Take your time, explore the gallery, and see what speaks to you. If a photo catches your eye, leave a comment. I’d love to know what you see.
Let’s go on an adventure together, one simple photo at a time.
